Terms of Use — MJ Coaching

Last updated: 12/7/26

1. Who we are

The MJ Coaching app is operated by MJCoaching ("we", "us"), registered in Ajman Free Zone, UAE. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The service

MJ Coaching provides personal coaching tools and self-coaching features — workout tracking, programmes, nutrition logging, progress tracking, and reminders. Some features depend on a coach relationship; others are available to self-coaching ("app-only") members. We may add, change, or remove features.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the app. If you are under-16: you may use the app only with verifiable parent/guardian consent, and a parent/guardian accepts these Terms on your behalf.

4. Health & safety — important

The app and your coach provide general fitness and nutrition coaching and information. This is NOT medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and your coach is not acting as a doctor, physiotherapist, or registered dietitian (see the Scope of Practice & Disclaimers, disclaimers.md).

Before starting, you must have completed MJ Coaching's health declaration (done when you join, before your account is set up) and it must remain accurate. If anything in it indicates a risk, or if you have a medical condition, injury, are pregnant, or take medication, consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any programme.

Stop and seek medical help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, or become unwell during exercise. You participate at your own risk.

If you have or are recovering from a disordered-eating condition, speak to a qualified professional before using nutrition/tracking features; tell your coach.

5. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information (including your health declaration and any health disclosures) and keep it up to date. Inaccurate health information may make coaching guidance unsafe.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app: no unlawful use, no attempting to breach security or access others' data, no interfering with the service, and no uploading harmful or infringing content.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the data and photos you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the service, including sharing your logged data with your coach. We will not use your progress photos publicly without your separate, explicit consent.

8. Membership, trials & payments

New self-coaching members may receive a free trial; after it, self-coaching access continues only for active members.

Payments for coaching and memberships are arranged and processed outside the app. We tell you what's included and the price before you pay.

Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated otherwise.

9. Account deletion

You can request deletion at any time from Profile → Delete account. Deletion is reviewed by your coach and then permanent: after a grace period (currently 30 days) your account and associated data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

10. Availability

We aim to keep the app available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for injury, health outcome, or loss arising from your use of the app or any programme, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law (which may include death or personal injury caused by negligence). Nothing in these Terms limits your non-excludable statutory rights.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them. The "last updated" date shows the current version.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you also keep the benefit of any consumer protections under the law of the country where you live that cannot be excluded by agreement — nothing in these Terms limits those rights. Disputes can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may instead bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live. Before going to court, please contact us first — most issues can be resolved directly.
